September 2014 – Marcus Gaffney, Team Lead, Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI)
Marcus Gaffney has accepted the position of Team Lead of the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) within NCBDDD’s Division of Human Development and Disability. Marcus has been a long term key member of the EHDI Team and brings a strong history of a process of collaboration, innovation and successful improvement towards the fulfillment of the national goals.
Marcus joined the EHDI Team as an ORISE Fellow in September 2000 and since then has served in a number of significant roles for the EHDI Team and the National Center. These include working on key strategic activities such as national data surveillance, epidemiological analysis, research projects, and providing technical assistance to states and territories. Marcus obtained his Bachelor of Science (BS) from North Carolina State University in 2000 and completed his Master of Public Health (MPH) at Mercer School of Medicine in 2004.
